Semillon is one of the founding varieties of the Barossa, consistently producing full-flavoured, textured wines that drink beautifully in their youth, but also have the ability to develop further complexity and depth of flavour with age.

4 Stars / 92 Points - "Lemon balm, wax and honeysuckle, some pristine freshness still intact. The palate carries the same mix of characters, smoky oak toast evident too, bright crisp acid - years of further complexity ahead, for those who wait." - Nick Stock - Penguin Good Australian Wine Guide 2009 - November 2008
Winery Tasting Notes
Vintage 2004. Grape
Variety: Semillon (100%).
Colour: Lively straw yellow with green tinges.
Bouquet: The fresh mandarin, lemon zest and grapefruit aromas of the fruit are complemented by the smoke, slightly phenolic and cheese undertones from the oak maturation.
Palate: A classic example of Semillon varietal, the 2004 Barossa Semillon is a mouthful of complex flavours and textures. The austere mineral palate and medium-body are balanced by the citrus backbone and grapefruit flavours.
Serving Suggestion: This is a wine perfect with cheeses especially the richer stilton styles. Also well-suited to be enjoyed with savory game dishes and veal.
Cellaring: Great drinking upon release and will repay cellaring up to 8 years from vintage.
