90 Points ‘Brunello clone’ shouts the bold black and white label. Coriole was one of the early movers with sangiovese, if not the first, but this clone is a recent arrival. It has good colour and, at least in this vintage, offers a balances of varietal fruit and tannins. Much promise. James Halliday Wine Companion 2010 Jun-09
92 Points More classic in style than last year’s…Nutty almond and cherry chocolate bar flavours with a sniff of leather. Medium bodied, fresh…its furry tannins tend to rein it all in..There’s something tasty about this refreshing red. It has us intrigued. Deep crimson / ruby red in colour.
The wine shows spicy aromatics - perfectly ripened fruit reveals complex cherry and plum with notes of tobacco and savoury Italian meats.
The palate displays satsuma plum and morello cherry with a distinct savoury edge. The finish is earthy with a lick of dusty tannin.
