90 Points. Intense and powerful aroma of cereal, light stone fruit and cutting citrus characters. There's a slightly toasty character on the palate which is richly textured but perfectly controlled and refined. It builds to a long complex finish. This is an example of a quality wine. From the cooler plains of Tasmania, Tamar Ridge is subtle, understated and deliciously oaked. Kerry Parkin marie claire Dec-08
Winery Tasting Notes
Bright mid-straw with tinges of green.
Primary fruit aromas of citrus and grapefruit with hints of yellow peach. These are backed up by spicy oak complexity and an underlying layer of honey and butterscotch from malolactic fermentation.
The initial impression is of crisp, tangy citrus fruit flavours with an attractive level of nutty oak complexity and creamy malolactic characters giving weight and interest to the mid-palate. There is a good persistence of flavour on the finish with a pleasant level of tannin grip and the acid balance to leave the palate clean and refreshed.
