Expert Reviews

Brown Brothers recent acquisition of Tamar Ridge is a masterstroke that will immeasurably increase its business base. Clear crimson-red; a highly fragrant cherry and plum bouquet introduces a wine with tremendous drive and vibrancy on its palate; it has great length and finesse.Rating 96 - James Halliday Weekend Australian (13/NOV/2010)

Winery Tasting Notes

Clear crimson red.

Fragrant cherry and ripe plum fruit aromas with a subtle undertone of smoky oak.

Ripe flavours of dark plum, mulberry and loganberry dominate the front of the palate and flow through to a finish with fine, silky tannins and sufficient acidity to add structure to balance the rich fruit flavours of this wine. Barrel maturation has added a layer of spicy oak complexity without

dominating the fruit.

Cellaring Potential

This is a full-flavoured and generous style of Pinot Noir that is enjoyable now but also has the flavour and balance to continue to improve in bottle for another 6 to 8 years.

Food Matching

The classic food match with Pinot Noir is always duck. Try it with a simple Roast Duckling or a duck confit. Would also team well with the rich flavours of a cassoulet.
