89 Points. Bright crimson; clear cut varietal fruit in a plum spectrum, but with some green lead/stem notes that detract. James Halliday Wine Companion 2010 Jun-09
UK wine writer Matthew Jukes med it in his 100 Best Australian Wines of 2009. “This little devil is nothing short of incorrigible with its chunky, cheeky, Beaujolais-esque crunch on the palate and summer pudding aroma.” Very gluggable. Mark Smith Sunday Examiner 19 Jul-09
A fresh, lighter style of Tassie pinot showing lots of vibrant, medium-bodied fruit characters. Has nice touches of raspberry and cherry on the nose with a seamless, simple yet flavoursome palate of some suppleness. Ray Jordan West Australian 23 Jul-09
89 Points. Unwooded Pinot with very direct confected red fruits; no previous experience required. Light, bright red fruit nose and plenty of fresh strawberries follow on the palate, there’s a light tannin frame and a neat acid crunch to close. Nick Stock Wine Buiness Monthly Jul-09
89 Points. A fresh style with strawberry and tobacco leaf notes and a hint of warm earth Finishes with a little grip. Ken Gargett Courier Mail 29 Aug-09
Winery Tasting Notes
Bright cherry red with purple tinges.
Rich, spicy plum fruit aromas with hints of black cherry and strawberry and an underlying touch of savoury.
Mouthfilling fruit with ripe plum and cherry flavours and hints of spicy and savoury complexity. This wine is made as a lighter bodied style but there is no shortage of flavour backed up with fine, silky tannins and a long supple finish.
