This is a finer style of dessert wine more in the European tradition with lusciousness balanced by acidity and a low level of alcohol.

Winery Tasting Notes

Bright, mid-gold with some green tinges.

Fresh, vibrant aromas of ripe apricot, melon and paw paw alongside some spicy/musk perfumes.

This is a luscious style with flavours of ripe apricot, melon and tropical fruit filling the front of the palate and giving a rich mouthfeel. Balancing this

lusciousness is a level of clean, fresh acidity providing a finish that is crisp and appealing.

Food Matching

A perfect style to enjoy with a fresh fruit dessert or a fully ripened soft cheese.

Cellaring Potential

While very enjoyable now it does have the potential to continue to develop in bottle for at least another 3 to 5 years.

Winemaking Notes

100% Riesling from our own vineyard located at Kayena on the West Tamar.

The botrytis infected fruit had a significant percentage of shrivelled berries making pressing difficult and limiting juice yield. Other than this we followed our normal procedures for aromatic whites with slow fermentation (approx 6 weeks at 10° C) in tank to maximise retention of fruit flavour.
