Our approach to making Pinot Noir starts with block allocation. Parcels identified for the Kayena Reserve are then placed into French oak and allowed to mature until final label classification some nine months later.

95 Points. “Intense and focused, at the top end of the great Tasmanian vintage; all it needs is time to unfold its magic; long, penetrating red and black fruits.” James Halliday James Halliday Wine Companion 2008 Jan-08
Winery Tasting Notes
Bright, deep, crimson red with deeper hues.
Ripe, powerful fruit aromas of black cherry with suggestions of raspberry and blackberry and a hint of white pepper. These are backed up by some more savoury, gamey aromas alongside nicely integrated oak.
This is a powerful wine with mouthfilling ripe fruit flavours of black cherry and blackberry and a touch of liquorice. These ripe flavours fill the front and mid-palate while the finish shows firm, fine tannins that are in-turn softened by the level of fruit weight. These flavours all combine to provide a palate with excellent length and persistence of flavour.
