Winery Tasting Notes
The Two Tracks 2008 Marlborough Chardonnay is glorious! The wine is showing concentrated aromas and flavours of bright spicy citrus/stonefruit with subtle French oak influence.
A gorgeous wine suited to, chicken, feta & roast pumpkin risotto or a smoked chicken Caesar salad.
Marlborough’s 2008 vintage was one of the most challenging since 1995! The season started off beautifully with excellent flower set throughout November. The following summer was classically hot and dry which resulted in a slightly early ripening. During Harvest Marlborough was hit by warm intermittent rain, add to this an unpredicted 20% increase in fruit intake from increased bunch weights and berry size, meant that the viticulture and winemaking teams worked long hard hours to bring the fruit into the winery in optimal condition. Fortunately all the hard work was worth it with the resulting wines tasting fantastic.
