Established in June 2008 and named after the three oceans that surround Australia, 3 Oceans Wine Company is a company with true Australian spirit and global ambition.
In October 1999, the 3 Oceans site (formally named Palandri Wines) north of the town of Margaret River was little more than cow-grazing farmland. Six months later the site had been transformed into a modern, state-of-the-art winery comprising of a café,a great gift shop, and a production facility capable of processing 4,500 tonnes of fruit.
Located 16 kilometres north of Margaret River, along the Bussell Highway, today we welcome almost 100,000 visitors annually.
Not content with innovation in the production and marketing of wines, 3 Oceans also introduced the concept of marrying the food and wine experience using tasting plates. A diverse range of food is paired with a variety of wines to enhance the total tasting experience. Fresh regional ingredients, extensive choice and affordable prices ensure the 3 Oceans café's popularity with tourists and locals alike.
The Winemaking Process
The 3 Oceans Wines winemaking team, led by Senior Winemaker Ben Roodhouse, believes that all good wine starts in the vineyard. Ben works closely with the viticultural team to ensure that the grapes that come into the winery are of the utmost quality. The winemaking team then skilfully transform the grapes into exceptional wines that are elegant in style with great fruit intensity and finesse. Says Ben, "making wine in one of the most remote wine regions in the world is certainly challenging, but the cool climate and ideal territory rewards us with quality fruit which ensures our wines are full of flavour with great complexity."
Margaret River is renowned for it's Mediterranean climate and close proximity to the Indian Ocean produces wines of outstanding intensity and flavour. They are at the pinnacle of Western Australia's premium wine producing regions.
