The riesling takes its name from a local landmark, Peggy’s Hill, at the top of the range between Eden Valley and Keyenton. The Eden Valley Riesling displays exceptional varietal and regional characteristics.
94 Points. Offers a mix of floral blossom and spice on the bouquet, moving on to a classic lime and lemon juce palate; already revealing some of its wares. James Halliday Wine Companion 2010 Jun-09
"Despite the very hot conditions, this riesling has turned out mighty fine. Appealing, neat and crunchy Riesling with a lingering delicate palate. Best in the shorter term as an aperitif." West Australian, Ray Jordan (Australia), 20 Nov 08
"There’s some talc and lemon fragrances, mid-palate juiciness and pure, fine and delicate yet intense, lemony flavours. It’s still young, tight and coiled but promises heaps."Quaff 2009, Peter Forrestal (Australia), 2009

Aroma
Lifted floral aromas of musk, kaffir lime and lemon zest on the nose.

Palate is rich but delicate with lemon sherbet notes that dance lightly on the tongue and a long, clean, crisp finish.
Henschke is one of the longest established family names in the Barossa and the Australian wine industry. Johann Christian Henschke first planted vines in Keyneton in 1861, producing his first commercial vintage in 1868.
The tradition of quality winemaking has passed down through the generations – today seeing Stephen Henschke and his wife, Prue, as winemaker and viticulturist respectively.
Awarded "International Red Winemaker of the Year" in 1996 at the London Wine Show, Stephen and Prue were in 2006, awarded Gourmet Traveller WINE magazine's "Winemaker of the Year" in recognition of winemaking excellence in both red and white wines. These Awards recognise the consistent and continuing success of this remarkable couple.
Prue has, for the last 18 years, explored and now employs both organic and biodynamic strategies to maximise the potential for the fruit from these unique vineyards to fully express their individual terroirs.
