Canberra Times, Fergus McGhie (Australia), 03 Mar 10

5 Stars

"Semillon, youre destined to be one of the great underrated white varieties. The 08 Louis is delicious and should be on more wine lovers shopping lists. Lean and citrus flavoured, theres guava and green jubey fruit too. The palate is long and crisp, so its either a drink-now proposition or a potential cracker from the cellar in a few years time."

"... This semillon is a beauty, with lots of marvelous lime and apple flavours and great length. Very classy and stylish."

Illawarra Mercury, Kerry Skinner (Australia), 12 Dec 09

"Aromantic, perfumed notes on the nose, elegant and vibrant with bright citrus apple and lemon fruit flavours, integrated cut grass characters, lively acidity and a crisp, dry finish."

Henschke is one of the longest established family names in the Barossa and the Australian wine industry. Johann Christian Henschke first planted vines in Keyneton in 1861, producing his first commercial vintage in 1868.

The tradition of quality winemaking has passed down through the generations – today seeing Stephen Henschke and his wife, Prue, as winemaker and viticulturist respectively.

Awarded "International Red Winemaker of the Year" in 1996 at the London Wine Show, Stephen and Prue were in 2006, awarded Gourmet Traveller WINE magazine's "Winemaker of the Year" in recognition of winemaking excellence in both red and white wines. These Awards recognise the consistent and continuing success of this remarkable couple.

Prue has, for the last 18 years, explored and now employs both organic and biodynamic strategies to maximise the potential for the fruit from these unique vineyards to fully express their individual terroirs.
