The Idiot Shiraz is from 18-year old grafted vines. The vines are cropped low (6-7 tonnes per hectare) requiring some bunch-thinning prior to véraison (when the bunch changes from green to red). The grapes are picked when they have achieved maximum bright fruit character and before any overripe fruit flavour develops.

Recommended. A pleasantly approachable pinot noir which is supple, subtly complex and possessed of enough varietal character. Winewise Jul-09
Winery Tasting Notes
Deep and bright, red and purple.
Intense aromas of fresh cracked pepper and assorted spice notes. These characters give into the bright dark cherry and berry fruits. The fruit is supported by a delicate shot of vanillin oak.
Bright, sweet fruit upfront supported by long fine tannins. Incredibly fresh pepper with persistent length and fruit balanced with fine savoury tannins.
