Clare Riesling at its best with zesty lemon/lime/grapefruit flavours all wound around a core of tight mineral acidity.

Another great 2010 Clare Valley Riesling. Pikes Traditionale has archetypal Clare Valley aromas of spring blossom, bakery spices, lime zest and slate. It’s still unevolved but that lovely ripe varietal purity contributes through the delicately intense palate, finishing floral, lingering and superfine. 5 Stars - Ralph Kyte-Powell, The Age (22/MAR/2011)
The 2010 Pikes ‘traditionale’ Riesling delivers assertive Clare Valley flavour. Some ripe lime citrus, stone fruits, fragrant spice and some sweet Thai basil all here – gets the food matching thoughts going at pace. Lovely smooth palate with lime and stone fruits here too, some honey – this just begs to be taken to the nearest Thai restaurant. Rating 92 - Nick Stock, WBM(01/FEB/2011)
A delightful young, zesty and fresh Riesling. The nose shows aromas of lemon and lime juice and a hint of orange blossom. Fresh and crisp on the palate, yet still light and delicate with a touch of orange sherbet. This 26th consecutive vintage is remarkable quality for the price. Delicately perfumed. Shows some initial sweetness, but has good fruit and acidity. A very enjoyable Riesling.Lester Jesberg, Winewise (01/DEC/2010)
I'm absolutely besotted by the current 2010 Pikes Riesling. Its sublime, not because its anything special it just tastes like a perfect Clare Riesling and that's my undoing. The lime, citrus, perfume and crisp, tingly acid make this sort of wine irresistible. Is it as good as the 2009 or the 2008? Not sure, but the wine in my glass seemed to be leaking or evaporating at such a rate as to make me wonder whether Id poured anything into my glass at all...Fergus McGhie, Canberra Times (30/OCT/2010)
Winery Tasting Notes
Brilliant, pale green.
Spotlessly clean and a restrained, displaying delicately perfumed citrus blossom and subtle notes of bathpowder, green apple and slate.
Crisp, fresh and dry, loaded with zesty lemon and grapefruit flavours wrapped around a spine of crunchy, mineral acidity.
A fantastic drink as a crisp, young white, but will take 7-10 years in the bottle for those who like bottle aged Riesling.
