Winery Tasting Notes

Bright, pale green straw tints.

Absolutely fresh aromas of stone and tropical fruits with a little nashi pear and mineral in the background. Quite subtle and restrained, but very typical of the variety.

Gentle stone / tropical fruit flavours and fresh, zingy acidity make for a light , refreshing wine that finishes clean and dry.

Should go well with paella and anti pasto dishes. An ideal drink over the spring and summer months.

Winery Profile

Brand Profile Image

Pikes Vintners is an iconic family owned and operated winery set amongst the hills and valleys of South Australia's beautiful Clare Valley.

Established in 1984 the winery and vineyards are situated in the historic and picturesque Polish Hill River sub region on the eastern side of the Clare Valley. The climate in this area is cooler and the soils are quite different compared to the rest of the region, imparting distinctive flavours and aromas to the wines.

Pikes is best known for its world class Riesling, but is becoming increasingly recognized for high quality, elegant red wines and their ever popular Sauvignon Blanc Semillon blend. Pikes have also been a leader in planting new and alternative varieties to the district including Sangiovese, Pinot Grigio and Viognier. Pikes also produces Pikes Oakbank- a sparkling Pilsener style beer.

The distinctive English Pike fish appears on all Pikes products.
