Pale straw in colour.

Sweet, generous, attractive nose of quince and confectionery, with hints of preserved lemons – the latter are very typically Verdelho.

Fine early palate, with those classically-varietal lemons and herbs, which fills out as the palate evolves to show the slightly oily richness – yet with prominent acidity – which are the hallmark of the variety.

Winery Profile

Browns of Padthaway are family owned and have been established in the Padthaway region for over 35 years, planting their first vines a quarter of a century ago. The region is cool climate and is characterized by its terra rossa soil and soft artesian water.

The word “Padthaway” is aboriginal for “good water”. Browns of Padthaway were one of the original producers to establish a vineyard in the area which now occupies 280 hectares producing Chardonnay, Riesling, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Verdelho and Malbec. The family’s wines are crafted from 100% estate grown fruit.
