Made with fruit sourced from some of the oldest vines (over 25 years) the Reserve Pinot Noir showcases Pinot Noir's layers and complexity coupled with elegance and richness of flavour.
- VIC - Mornington Peninsula
"An elegant red-fruited bouquet, framed by sappy spice and a gentle seasoning of oak; the palate is restrained, and takes time to let the bright cherry fruits unravel to a complex array of spices; silky in structure, with ample fine-grained tannins, and refreshing acidity draws out the even finish. " Rating 95 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 2011
"The reputation of the winery rides on this wine’s consistent expression of high-quality pinot with a tighter structure and more restrained fruit, yet the finish is always flavoursome."Rating 87 - Robert Geddes MW Australian Wine Vintages 2011 (01/Aug/2010)
"Lots of smooth, smoky oak. It’s a bit obvious, but all things said and done – pretty delicious. Give it some air and lovely flavours of sour and sweet cherry, plums and nutmeg step forward. This wine wants for nothing. Its tannin structure is still sorting itself out – but it will do so. We’d back it to age pretty well too. "Rating 94, Campbell Mattinson and Gary Walsh, Big Red Wine Book 2010/2011
Winery Tasting Notes
Deep, bright red.
Very perfumed bouquet of morello cherries, red currants and dark chocolate, with some floral, spicy complexity and subtle French oak bouquet.
Very even but substantial weight of fruit and tannin on the palate, with well balanced acidity lending freshness to the powerful fruit character.
