Expert Reviews

Gourmet Traveller WINE, Nick Ryan (Australia), 01 Dec 09 "Dark cherries and hints of forest floor lead to a silky textured, fine-framed palate with a subtly sappy edge."

North Shore Times (Australia), 02 Oct 09 "... It has a wonderful silky softness and richness of fruit. Superb."

WBM, Nick Bulleid (Australia), 01 Oct 09 "... was more reserved initially, but revealed beautiful raspberry fruit. The 30% new oak is barely apparent. The palate is supremely stylish and supple, with rich red fruits and lovely tannin balance..."

Sydney Morning Herald, Peter Bourne (Australia), 25 Jun 09 "The Stonier wines have entered a new age with the Reserve label in top form. Made from the oldest vines, the '07 is bright, intense and focused with high-toned, juicy fruit – ripe cherries, wild strawberries and fresh raspberries with a dash of exotic spice."

Big Red Wine Book 2009/2010, Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (Australia), 29 May 09 93 Points "…top notch pinot noir…a pinot that’s all about satiny texture…Glorious, silken texture. It tastes of cherries and sundry red berries, mulchy earth and fresh basil. It’s fragrant and flavoursome in a pinot noir context. It has high acid and some fine tannin…It’s a delightful drink, and it lilts magnificently across your tongue."

Canberra Times, Fergus McGhie (Australia), 28 Jan 09 5 Stars "While every Stonier Reserve Pinot is impressive, the '07 reserve is one of the best I've tried in recent years. Bergundian savour is backed up by pure fruit... enjoy one of the great Australian Pinots. I could write an essay on its merits if I only had the space."
