A cool season blessed this wine with gorgeous aromas of white lilies and lemon blossom. The sublime, elegant palate is like a field of just-blossomed white flowers. Delicate texture and minerality caressed by subtle almond oak. The best Stonier Chardonnay yet?Top Wine of the Year 2010 Rating 95 - Tyson Stelzer, WBM (01/SEP/2010)
Thought this latest release chardonnay from Stonier was a little on the ho-hum side at first. But it grew on me. There’s nothing awesome about this wine but it’s peachy, grapefruity, toasty flavour is pure and bright and if I was in the mood for a chardie – it would hit the spot pretty well. It’s neither over - nor under-done and won’t alarm or surprise any drinker; it is the epitome of reliability. Variety and brand intact. Alcohol on the finish is a bit warming but flavour, length, and balance are all impeccable. Rating 90 - Campbell Mattinso, www.winefront.com.au, (17/MAR/2011)
In 2009 the fine-textured chardonnay reveals ripe, sweet melon- and nectarine-like varietal flavours, set against a subtle backdrop of barrel derived aromas and flavours. "Chris Shanahan, www.chrisshanahan.com (03/APR/2011)
Always a reliable option when it comes to chardonnay, this delivers lovely generous, ripe stone fruit, melon, and fig aromas and flavours to the fore with a thread of mineral acidity. Jon Helmer Bellarine Times, (05/OCT/2010)
