Overview

A fruit driven, early drinking style; fruit sourced from younger vineyards cropped at under three-tonnes to the acre. The palate reflects the generous fruit of the nose, with careful use of oak to enhance varietal characteristics. The Stonier Chardonnay was 80% barrel fermented in predominantly old oak with lees stirring and complete malolactic fermentation, with 20% fermented in stainless steel maintaining the fresh, powerful fruit characters typical of this wine.

The AGE, Ralph Kyte-Powell (Australia), 15 Dec 09 5 Stars "ONE of the Mornington Peninsula's best sub-$30 chardonnays is even better than usual with the '08 edition. Its poised, inviting nose perfectly balances aromas of grapefruit, fig syrup, barley

Canberra Times, Fergus McGhie (Australia), 25 Nov 09 5 Stars "... another stunning Stonier chardonnay full of bright zesty citrus fruit flavours and real depth. Textured and fine..."
