A single vineyard bottle aged wine from a truly distinguished site.

Planted in 1979 on friable red soils over the 1800 million year old calc-silicate basement rocks, the Tiers Vineyard is the lowest and warmest vineyard in the Piccadilly valley. The viticultural paradox of 'cool location, warm site', ensures complete ripening in the cool, sunny and dry conditions of mid autumn. A wine that needs and deserves bottle age, but has the upfront fruit to be a great drink now.

Expert Reviews

The Tiers site includes soils derived from rock 1.8 billion years old, and the vines themselves are now mature; the aromas and flavours are particularly intense, ripe stone fruit, fig and melon lanced by a steel spike of perfectly balanced acidity. A wine of quality in every respect, protected by the screwcap.

Winery Tasting Notes

Pale straw, clean and bright.

Full ripe, white peach aromas typical of the Tiers Vineyard.x

Hins of almond and cinnamon complement the peach fruit, and the savoury finish is typical of the vineyard, displaying a wondeful, long, nutty, viscous finish. It has a wonderful mineral acidity to back up the viscous palate. It is a wine that need and deseve bottle age, but it is a lvoely approachable wine now.
