This is a sumptuous red wine that will reward many years careful cellaring.

The mature Shiraz and Viognier vines of the B&V Vineyard achieve a natural balance of moderate growth and low crop on its micaceous schist derived soils. The vineyard is situated on the western escarpment of Mount Barker on the eastern edge of the Adelaide Hills.

Dark, brooding, vibrant dry red.


The aroma has loads of spicy dark fruit and cherries and blackberries are complemented by a touch of anise.


The palate is full and rich, with sweet black fruits and continues the spicy savoury theme. Lovely cinnamon, toasty oak complement fine abundant tannins.


The B&V Vineyard was planted in 1992 on micaceous schist derived soils on the western escarpment of Mt Barker on the eastern edge of the Adelaide Hills. The climate and soil of this vineyard closely resemble those of Cote Rotie in the Northern Rhone Valley where Shiraz and Viognier are native varieties.

Winemaker Andrew Hardy

Andrew began with Petaluma in 1982, working and studying his wayup through the ranks as cellar hand, trainee winemaker and finally leadwinemaker. Successfully interweaving practical, ‘in the vineyard’ workwith university studies, Andrew completed his Bachelor of Appl. Sci(Wine Science) at University of Adelaide in 1990. Nominated in August1999 as a finalist in AGT Wine Magazine's Winemaker of the Year award, Andrew is highly respected for his effortless winemaking style,restrained hand in the winery and engaging manner.
