Overview

The 2008 Shiraz is a dark, brooding, spice, vibrant dry red. The palate is full and rich, with sweet black fruits and continues the spicy savoury theme. Lovely cinnamon, toasty oak complement fine abundant tannins. The 2008 Petaluma Shiraz is the first vintage for some years to have no Viognier co-fermented.

Aroma

The aroma has loads of spicy dark fruit and cherries and blackberries are complemented by a touch of anise.

Winemaker Andrew Hardy

Andrew began with Petaluma in 1982, working and studying his wayup through the ranks as cellar hand, trainee winemaker and finally leadwinemaker. Successfully interweaving practical, ‘in the vineyard’ workwith university studies, Andrew completed his Bachelor of Appl. Sci(Wine Science) at University of Adelaide in 1990. Nominated in August1999 as a finalist in AGT Wine Magazine's Winemaker of the Year award, Andrew is highly respected for his effortless winemaking style,restrained hand in the winery and engaging manner.
