The 2007 Petaluma Shiraz is a dark, brooding, aromatic, vibrant wine. The palate is full and rich, but continues the spicy route and is enhanced by delicate cinnamon oak. Long and rich, soft sandy tannins complement the savoury finish.

"A meaty, dark and smoky shiraz whose deep, spicy flavours of dark berries and plums are accompanied by musky, suede leather-like complexity, dark chocolate/cedary oak and undertones of very slightly baked and raisiny fruit. Its powerful and assertive, with a firm, bony undercarriage and a pleasing length of flavour." Rating 90 - Jeremy Oliver, The Australian Wine Annual 2010 (01/Oct/09)
"Vibrant colour; dark and brooding with lots of spicy oak framing the fruit; the palate is earthy and rich, with a savoury roast meat component; the wine needs time for all parts to integrate. " Rating 93 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 2010 Edition (01/Jun/09)
"There’s ripeness and spiciness here…this more structured and serious. We’re betting on this one to age like a charm. It has tightly packed blackberry, dark cherry and mocha, its spicy tones ushering through on the finish. " Rating 94 - Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh, Big Red Wine Book 2009/2010, (29/May/09)
