Overview

The colour is a translucent deep crimson attributed to small berries and use of the crushing technique. This Rose smells of intense strawberry which follows on to the palate with length and juiciness so typical of Adelaide Hills cool climate wines.

Winery Tasting Notes

The 2008 vintage was again drought affected across the whole country. The cool climate Adelaide Hills wine region fared well in comparison to many with excellent crop quality despite a record breaking heat wave in the first two weeks of March.Small Pinot Noir parcels were selected from premium Adelaide Hills vineyards between Lenswood and Aldgate in the heart of the Adelaide Hills and picked in the last week of February. Delivered to the nearby Petaluma winery, the hand picked fruit was de-stemmed, gently crushed and pressed to stainless steel tanks. Seeded immediately for fermentation with Petaluma's selected yeast strain, the ferment was cool, controlled, then arrested at a minimal sweetness that best represented a balanced Rose wine. After cold settling, the parcels were racked, blended and bottled immediately after mildfiltration to retain maximum freshness. This is the second release of the Bridgewater Mill Adelaide Hills Rose, the first release being a'saignee. method Shiraz, this year we looked to Pinot Noir in our pursuit of Rose excellence. The colour is a translucent deep crimson attributed to small berries and use of the crushing technique. Winery Profile

Brand Profile Image

The sweeping and curving Adelaide Hills in South Australia are home to the cool fresh vineyards that create the Bridgewater Mill wines. Grown on vines up to 25 years old and at a cool 300-450 metres high, Bridgewater Mill wines are finely drawn with taut structures, pure fruit and crisp clean flavours.

The dramatic wine labels originate from a single artwork inspired by the sweeping horizon line of the definitive Adelaide Hills landscape. At the very heart of the Adelaide Hills lies Petaluma’s Cellar Door, the heritage listed Bridgewater Mill, est. 1860.
