"... is a lovely drinking wine with nicely subdued fruit and fine tannins. It possesses a noteworthy finesse and balanced structure..."
The Australian Wine Annual 2010, Jeremy Oliver (Australia, New Zealand), 01 Oct 09
"An elegant and stylish wine that would have been even better without the sweet and spirity impact of 15% alcohol. Its deep, slightly earthy, meaty and gamy aromas of blackberries and plums are laced with black pepper, musky spices and sweet suggestions of chocolate/vanilla oak. Long, dark and savoury, its slightly sour-edged presence of dark plums and berries, smoked meats and minerals culminates in a savoury but slightly spirity and graphite-like mineral finish."
Winestate, Nick Haselgrove, Ian Hongell & Bill Hardy (Australia), 01 Oct 09
"You can really smell the fresh pepper here and there’s lots more of it on the lovely blue/black fruit palate."
Winery Tasting Notes
Deep red in colour. The colour exhibits rich cherry and spice notes.
Seductive spicy Shiraz fruit richness on the palate gives way to a fine tannin structure. This well rounded wine shows great medium palate weight with the length strengthened by the use of American oak.
