Gentle nectarine and grapefruit flavours matched by subtle oak and balanced acidity; well made. James Halliday Wine Companion 2010
"It seemed like an old-fashioned, oak-driven, buttery style when I first picked it up - but once I’d swallowed the flavour carried on and on. This wine has length. It does smell of toast and caramel and peach and while it tastes of those things too, the fact that the wine doesn’t go through any malo means that there’s still a deal of racy acidity roaring through the finish. There’s a place for wines like this and, hopefully, always will be." www.winefront.com.au, Campbell Mattinson (Australia), 02 Dec 08
Winery Tasting Notes
The non irrigated Chardonnay grapes reached full ripeness early in March before the burst of hot weather. Pale straw in colour, the nose of this wine exhibits ripe peach characters which flow onto the palate. The richness of ripe Chardonnay characters is balanced on the palate by the subtle use of French oak. This wine shows complexity of fruit flavours with gentle oak handling aiding to the finesse of the wine.
