Classification: Barolo DOCG, Piedmont, Italy
The wine has a clear-cut, intense nose with overtones of vanilla, spices, withered roses and underbrush; its taste is dry, but soft, full-bodied, velvety and well-balanced, and is very long-lasting..

‘Liquorice, damp earth, rose and cherry. It has juicy fruit and well massed massaged tannins – quite thick – even slightly creamy and spicy. Mid weight but plenty of flavour and a good finish. Very good wine and approachable now.’Rating 92 - Gary Walsh, www.winefront.com

A cool summer was followed by extended rains in October. Vineyard management was key – well located and managed vineyards with low yields were able to gain full ripeness after delaying harvest due to the rain. The patient and brave were rewarded in 2005.
