Winery Tasting Notes

Colour

Pale yellow in colour with green highlights.

Aroma

The nose is complex and pure with aromas of stone fruit, melon and crushed herb.

Palate

The palate distinguishes itself from the average Bourgogne by the precision and elegance of the fruit and long mineral acid backbone.

Vintage Condition

A difficult vintage that rewarded the diligent and brave vigneron. An very warm April was negated by a shockingly cold and wet summer. Consistent dry and windy conditions in late August saved the vintage and when the dust settled it was clear that 2007 was an excellent vintage for white Burgundy. The vintage will be characterised by finesse and elegance with pronounced mineral acidity. The wines will be delicate in their youth but beautiful in their purity and possess long ageing potential.

Winemaking Note

Sourced from a single vineyard bordering Meursault. lRemi targets finesse and elegance, focussing on fruit expression rather than winemaking constructs or oak influence. Whole bunches are fermented with wild yeast before maturation in very tight grained Austrian oak, chosen for the minimal character it imparts on the wines and all wines are bottled without filtration.
