Appellation: Rasteau A.C., Southern Rhone, France
Archetype of the Rhône Wine, round, powerful, ripe, concentrated... Syrah lights the Wine by its freshness, whereas Grenache brings the structure and wraps the Wine in its meatiness A great success.

The 2008 Cotes du Rhone-Villages Rasteau Vieilles Vignes (made from yields of 15 hectoliters per hectare) exhibits chocolaty, black cherry, and black currant notes intertwined with hints of scorched earth and asphalt. This big, full-bodied, bruising, slightly rustic wine should drink well for 7-8 years.
Rating 89 - 91, Drink 2009 - 2017 - Robert Parker, Wine Advoate (OCT/2009)
