The Shortlist range is a selection of multi-award winning wines that represent the unique flavour and character of each varietal as well as the influence of the terroir on the wine. Each bottle is individually numbered.
Open-fermented 7-10 days, matured for 16 months in new and 1yo French and American oak. Bright and clearly coloured, this has rarely-encountered energy and life to its rhapsodic display of red and black cherry, satsuma plum, spice and fine-grained tannins. Terrific value. Rating 95 - Drink by 2032, James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (FEB/2015).
Colour
Dark ruby in colour.
Aroma
Powerful aromas of cherry and red berry fruit combine with hints of earthiness to create an enticing aroma.
Palate
Ripe red cherries, raspberry and hints of savouriness on the aroma blend perfectly on the palate. The shiraz and grenache provide red berry and cherry fruit flavours whilst the addition of mourvédre contributes to mouth feel, tannins, and a savoury earthiness. Well integrated oak ensures the finish is long and lingering complemented by nice, soft tannins.
Food Matching
Pairs perfectly with proscuitto wrapped veal with roasted baby root vegetables or provincial Italian cuisine.
