McWilliam's Mount Pleasant Old Paddock and Old Hill Shiraz draws its fruit from the original Shiraz vines grown on the famous Old Hill Vineyard planted in 1880 and the nearby Old Paddock Vineyard, which was established by the late Maurice O'Shea in 1921. These prized vineyard sites have contributed to producing this richly flavoured, memorable wine since the very first vintage in 1967.

Deep crimson, vivid hue; a pure, complex and seductive bouquet of red and blue fruits, spices and liqueur soaked plums; despite the elegance, the latent power and ample fine-grained tannins almost move this in to the full-bodied spectrum, with the oak merely showing glimpses on the finish; beautifully detailed and polished, with an extremely long life ahead.

Winery Tasting Notes
Intense dark red brick with vibrant magenta hues
Elegantly perfumed sweet lifted ripe raspberry notes with spicy dark chocolate oak complimented by an earthy and nutty nuance.
The front palate displays ripe red fruits of raspberry and strawberry, which is married to the mid palate adding poise and structure. The palate exhibits great depth with a beautiful acid line linking the fruit from the front palate to the back palate. Very fine silky tannins complete the finish of the wine and delicately coat the mouth leaving a pleasant and very persistent lingering flavor.
