This aromatic wine, made from a single clone Riesling grape grown on very low yielding vines, shows layered aromas suggesting talc, lime and floral perfume, followed by a palate with citrus, flint and mineral characters that extends to a long crisp finish. This elegant and universal style may be drunk as an aperitif or will match most food flavours.
- WA - Mount Barker
- Western Australia
Move over Clare Valley; step aside Eden Valley. Mount Barker in West Australias south-west is fast emerging as a serious producer of high quality rieslings. An outstanding single vineyard wine from the edge of the Porongurup Ranges, this has gloriously welcoming floral aromas and searingly intense lemon and lime flavours on a palate that is both beautifully fresh and perfectly balanced. This is a wine for sipping and savouring.Winsor Dobbin, Sunday Examiner (05/DEC/2010)
Winery Tasting Notes
Layered aromas suggesting talc, lime and floral perfume.
Citrus, flint and mineral characters that extend to a long crisp finish
Young fresh oysters and other shellfish. Soft goats cheese or a hard cows milk cheese such as Appenzeller.
Made from a single clone Riesling grape grown on very low yielding vines, only the best vineyard rows are selected to produce this wine. Using a cool, long and super clean ferment to retain aromatics, this wine was then fined, filtered and bottled as quickly as possible.
