Shiraz from our Mount Barker vineyard has produced a very classical style of wine that displays cool climate Shiraz notes of strawberries and other red berries with white pepper finishing with soft fine tannins.
- WA - Mount Barker
- Western Australia
A complex shiraz from the cooler Great Southern region of WA, this has a savoury nose of spice, dark fruits and blackcurrant jam, touched by a well-maged dab of oak. In the mouth it's full of flavour, with medium body and lots of spicy, funky modern shiraz character, finishing with mouth-puckering, grainy tannins.
Ralph Kyte Powell Epicure - The AGE 1 Sep-09
"It has talent...porty, brandied flavours and more fruity black cherry, it’s toasty oak..within reasoble limits. It should all mesh nicely and make for a good rendition of what Mt Barker shiraz has to offer. It has the structure and spice to mature very well." Big Red Wine Book 2009/2010, Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (Australia), May 2009
Winery Tasting Notes
Shiraz from our Mount Barker vineyard has produced a very classical style of wine that displays cool climate Shiraz notes of strawberries and other red berries with white pepper finishing with soft fine tannins. The style is unique to the region and arguably is closer to the styles of the old world shiraz regions than to elsewhere in Australia.

Blue Gold Award Winner Sydney Intertiol Wine Competition 2009 (Australia), 2009
This wine shows fresh lively fruit with lifted red and black berries. While the wine is vibrant and ripe, it avoids being too broad or "fat". There are fine tannins and some gentle background oak.
