The cool climate of the Yarra Valley ensures vineyards produce Chardonnay fruit of consistently high quality. Domaine Chandon Chardonnay 2014 expresses regional integrity, great style and elegant sophistication.
- VIC - Yarra Valley
The 2014 Chardonnay gives a good nose of ripe apples, white peaches and honeysuckle with hints of orange peel, baking bread and almonds. Light to medium-bodied, it's just slightly lean in the mid-palate, with a disappointingly abrupt finish. Rating 84 - Drink by 2017, Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (FEB/2015).
Winery Tasting Notes
A nose of fresh and enticing white flowers, grapefruit and stone fruit aromas combines with subtle spice characters.
The palate shows an immediate sense of delicacy, with fresh pear and apple flavours balanced by zesty acidity and great length of flavour.
This Chardonnay is a fresh, young style so a Sunday roast chicken or pan fried flathead fillets with a squeeze of lemon are dream matches.
