Expert Reviews

The 2008 Termes offers up a sexy perfume of cedar, spice box, violets, incense, espresso, and blackberry. Savory, concentrated, and well-balanced, this flavorful effort will benefit from several years of additional cellaring but can be approached now. Rating 91 - Jay Miller, Wine Advocate (JUN/2011)

This bold red matches ripe blackberry and currant flavours with toast, dark, chocolate and oak notes. The tannins are firm and well-integrated, and the smokey minearl note is alluring. Rating 91 - Wine Spectator (JAN/2011)

An excellent wine for an off vintage, with licorice, balsam, black fruit galore and coconut aroms. The feel is plush, layered and smooth for Toro, with blackberry, mocha, lemon peel and coconutty flavours. Toasty on the finish, with a final wave of vanilla and chocolate. Rating 91 - Wine Enthusist (OCT/2011)

Winery Tasting Notes

Tinta de Toro, a grape as unique heritage

The Toro region's grape is the Tinta de Toro, a dark, tough skinned variety from the Tempranillo family and one of the very few tor esist the phyllloxera. Tinta de Toro is only found in this part of Spain. Its small berries are rich in tannin and when picked at optimal ripeness, have exceptionally concentrated fruit flavours.

Deep bright cherry-red, with light purple tones

Fresh and intense fruity aromas (raspberry, red currant, cherry) well integrated to a flower touch (violets, lavender) with a gentle spices and eucalyptus touch.

The aromatic experience continues, the mouthfeel is silky and vibrant. After a persistent and intense attack, an explosion of fruit, the end of mouth is long and complex, with spices, tobacco, raspberries and blackberries notes.
