Ungrafted vines between 50 and 100 years old give birth to Numanthia, the estate's signature wine. Low yields provide concentrated fruit of remarkable intensity and power, carefully nurtured during vinification. 18 months ageing in French oak brings balance and strucutre. Wood aromas on the nose are coupled with notes of berries, cedar and liquorice in the mouth, closing with a long, sliken finish.

The 2007 Numanthia is marginally more approachable but it, too, is a dense, layered, voluminous, structured wine. Given the requisite cellaring, it will eventually become both elegant and powerful.
Bodegas Numanthia-Termes was sold by the Eguren family to Moet-Hennessey prior to the 2006 vintage. Tinta de Toro, a grape as unique heritage
The Toro region's grape is the Tinta de Toro, a dark, tough skinned variety from the Tempranillo family and one of the very few tor esist the phyllloxera. Tinta de Toro is only found in this part of Spain. Its small berries are rich in tannin and when picked at optimal ripeness, have exceptionally concentrated fruit flavours.
Deep dark bright red with light ruby tones
Both intense and complex, there are several layers of aromatics in this lively nose: first some extremely intense notes of red and black fruits (black sherries, raspberries, redcurrants and cassis), perfectly integrated with sweet spices (cinnamon, nutmeg and black pepper) vanilla and toasted characters.
Impressive fruit expression, concentrated and velvety tannins, leading to a velvety and lively full body mouthfeel. Long and elegant on the finish with an extremely wide range of aromas, like dark fruits, cocoa, toasted and spicy notes, highlights the complexity and handcraft character of this wine.
