Mid-gold, vibrant hue; a compelling and deeply toasty bouquet, with grilled nuts and fresh lemons vying for supremacy; the palate is lively, chalky, complex and while rich, travels gracefully on a staggeringly long path, unimpeded by imperfection; lovely. Rating 97 - Drink by 2020, James Halliday, Nick Stock and Jeremy Oliver
Wonderful wine and Australia’s best. Finely woven complex and rich yet still fresh. High quality due to aged wine finesse and complexity, classic flavours abound, fine and seamless middle palate flavours finishing very long interweaving yeast, cashew and citrus. The nose displays a complex mixture of aromas including lifted nuances of honey biscuit, truffle, mushroom and the distinct scent of sea spray.
The palate is rich and flavoursome with a truly epicurean mix of toast, sautéed mushroom and lemon curd. This is a very elegant wine with an exceptional balance of acidity, sugar and tannin.
