Roundness, body, length, maturity and mellowness.
Amber hue with a bright glint of pure gold.
Power of the perfumes, length of the fragrance. Suavity. Scents of underwood, dry vine shoots, vanilla (rancio).
Fullness, maturity, extreme mellowness. Intense fruitiness.
Each cognacs are aged separately longer than for the Pale & Dry, owing to their origin and then the blend itself, made at the end of the ageing period, is aged for two years more (marriage). Matured in well seasoned Limousin oak casks (350L).
"The vanilla and woody notes are confirmed with a strong overtone of smoky cigar-box and licorice with the wood leading into a long, lasting finish. This is superbly focused and balanced Cognac... Many textures and layers."Franz Scheurer, Australian Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine (SEP/2011)
