Nurtured by the Fourny family since the 19th Century, vines for this Champagne are around 40 years old and hand-picked to maintain the finesse and elegance of the Chardonnay, with the body and texture of the Pinot Noir. Small oak casks enhance the fruit and subtle biscuit aromas, resulting in a lovely balance of tradition and style.

There's loads of interesting things going on in this complex, mostly chardonnay-based Champagne. Smooth, and with a nice chalky grip, it pitches elegance with grip and refreshment quite nicely. I really like the fresh burst of flavour that matches the zesty lemon, brioche and biscuit aromas.

Winery Tasting Notes
Fine but complex and funky aromas typical of Vertus. Quite chalky and creamy with some biscuit like characters from the Pinot Noir. 40% Reserve wines from previous vintages added. Traditional ‘house’ style.
Excellent combination of fruit and subtle biscuit aromas, a lovely balance of breadiness and freshness.
