Winemaker Nigel Dolan
Dolan is wine industry royalty of a kind; he has shaped palates of the globe and forged new paths for Australian wine with both winemaking and wine judging roles interwoven into his long career. Pivotal in his award winning career have been the two Jimmy Watson trophy wins in 1992 and 2003.
He was also named the 2009 Australian Winemaker of the Year by Winestate magazine, and has previously been named South Australian Red Winemaker of the Year, Barossa Wine Maker of the Year and been a finalist in the QANTAS Winemaker of the Year. In 2002, he earned the auspicious rank of "Baron of the Barossa".Throughout his career, Dolan has upheld a simple overriding philosophy of quality. Quality can take on many different guises and levels. He cites expressiveness, not just in winemaking, but expression of variety, vineyard, and region is the key to quality.
