A rich, full bodied wine showing intense berry fruit flavours; plums, dark cherries with lifted spice characters. The wine is soft and generous on the mid palate, with fine tannins and balanced with subtle oak nuances, all of which contribute to a finish of good persistence.

A high quality Shiraz parcels exhibiting varietal fruit flavour were selected from extensive vineyard searching by our winemaking team. The fruit was sourced predominantly from South Australian wine districts.

George Wyndham is one of the founding fathers of the Australian wine industry having planted Australia's first commercial Shiraz vineyard in 1830. His innovative spirit is a proud legacy that endures to this day at Wyndham Estate. Wyndham Estate is the birthplace of Australian Shiraz -- it is the home of George Wyndham's original estate.

Winemaker Nigel Dolan

Dolan is wine industry royalty of a kind; he has shaped palates of the globe and forged new paths for Australian wine with both winemaking and wine judging roles interwoven into his long career. Pivotal in his award winning career have been the two Jimmy Watson trophy wins in 1992 and 2003.

He was also named the 2009 Australian Winemaker of the Year by Winestate magazine, and has previously been named South Australian Red Winemaker of the Year, Barossa Wine Maker of the Year and been a finalist in the QANTAS Winemaker of the Year. In 2002, he earned the auspicious rank of "Baron of the Barossa".Throughout his career, Dolan has upheld a simple overriding philosophy of quality. Quality can take on many different guises and levels. He cites expressiveness, not just in winemaking, but expression of variety, vineyard, and region is the key to quality.
