Overview

‘Bossa’, the affectionate nickname that Vittorio De Bortoli bestowed on his childhood sweetheart, Giuseppina, identifies the authentically Australian story of a modern migrant woman. La Bossa wines pay homage to Giuseppina’s inspiring traits. They are wines that are proud and authentic, but with the kind of contemporary style and vibrancy that made Giuseppina one of a kind.

This modern, lightly oaked Chardonnay displays luscious tropical fruit flavours.

Expert Reviews

Every time I look, the refinement of De Bortoli’s Yarra Valley operation has further infiltrated its Riverina headquarters. This brand new bargain basement chardonnay is a celebration of this philosophy, infused with the vibrant tang of cool 2011 vintage acidity. A zesty, refreshing style, singing with grapefruit, lemon zest and white peach. Rating 90 - Tyson Stelzer, www.tysonstelzer.com

Winery Profile

Brand Profile Image

De Bortoli Wines is a third generation family wine company established by Vittorio and Giuseppina De Bortoli in 1928. The couple emigrated to Australia from Northern Italy, from mountain villages at the foothills of the Italian Alps, near the historic town of Asolo.

Their son, the energetic and dynamic Deen De Bortoli, (b 1936 – d 2003) expanded and consolidated the business created by his parents. Deen's children established De Bortoli's reputation for premium wine including icon dessert wine Noble One and the Yarra Valley wines.

Italian family values passed down from Vittorio remain core values, there is a culture of hard work, generosity of spirit and of sharing good food, good wine and good times with family and friends.
