Plentiful winter and early spring rain in 2013 set up the 2014 vintage for a promising start. A dry and windy november with frost in some areas led to reduced crops throughout the Barossa and marked the beginning of a vintage that would throw up plenty of challenges. What was progressing as a dry, warm summer was interrupted by a deluge of rain in February, followed by a cool and dry finish to the vintage. As always, careful management in the vineyard and well considered picking decisions were crucial in delivering rich, fresh and regionally expressive fruit to the winery.ColourMid crimson with purple hues.AromaThe nose shows lifted blackberry, violets, olive and dark chocolate with clove aromas, enhanced by oak spice.PalateA full bodied palate showcases classic varietal dark fruit flavours complemented by light vanilla and regional choclate notes.
