Sourced from a range of Waipara vineyards in the South Island, this is an elegant, crisp style of Pinot Gris – the result of a cool climate. The palate shows soft white nectarine flavours and is balanced by lifted aromatics of pear and guava. This sumptuous sparkling wine adds a new element to the enjoyment of Pinot Gris and is complete with a fresh tropical finish.

The wine shows a bright golden yellow colour with green olive hues and a fine-beaded mousse.


The nose is perfumed and characterised with aromas of tropical fruit.


The palate shows intense pear flavours and is full and textural with a crisp, refreshing finish.

Brancott Estate Sparkling Pinot Gris is designed for drinking upon release and is best enjoyed whilst the fruit flavours are fresh and vibrant. While we craft wines from vineyards throughout New Zealand, Brancott Estate™ wines (formerly known as 'Montana' wines) are named in honour of our Marlborough roots - taking their name from our cherished Brancott Vineyard. With its special combination of soil, sun and climate, this is where we first planted our most famous varietal; Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Although our name has changed, you can be assured that the distinctive and uniquely New Zealand wine in the bottle will remain the same - as will the location of our inspirational home where it all began.

In 1973, Brancott Vineyard was the site of our first Sauvignon Blanc plantings in Marlborough – a decision that went against the popular opinion of the time that suggested the South Island was too cold to grow wine grapes. We soon proved this wasn’t the case with our very first vintage of the varietal winning an award.

The release of the first Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc vintage in 1979 was the beginning of a phenomenon which, not only placed New Zealand firmly on the international wine map, but has since become a shining example of the quality of wine that can be produced from this land.

Today, Brancott Vineyard continues to be a source of inspiration for our winemakers, not only proving that anything is possible, but that our belief in this land and our knowledge to obtain the best from it can result in award-winning wines enjoyed the world over.
