Appearance

The wine is pale straw in colour with fine-beaded mousse.

Aroma

The nose is characterised by aromas of ripe tropical fruit and vibrant passionfruit.

Palate

The palate shows intense stone fruit flavours and is full and textural with a tantalising minerality. This wine shows fantastic equilibrium of concentrated fruit flavours and zesty acidity.

Food Matching

Brancott Estate Sauvignon Blanc Brut is designed for drinking upon release and is best enjoyed whilst the fruit flavours are fresh and vibrant. It can be served on its own as an aperitif but is also a perfect match for seafood.

While we craft wines from vineyards throughout New Zealand, Brancott Estate™ wines (formerly known as 'Montana' wines) are named in honour of our Marlborough roots - taking their name from our cherished Brancott Vineyard. With its special combination of soil, sun and climate, this is where we first planted our most famous varietal; Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Although our name has changed, you can be assured that the distinctive and uniquely New Zealand wine in the bottle will remain the same - as will the location of our inspirational home where it all began.

In 1973, Brancott Vineyard was the site of our first Sauvignon Blanc plantings in Marlborough – a decision that went against the popular opinion of the time that suggested the South Island was too cold to grow wine grapes. We soon proved this wasn’t the case with our very first vintage of the varietal winning an award.

The release of the first Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc vintage in 1979 was the beginning of a phenomenon which, not only placed New Zealand firmly on the international wine map, but has since become a shining example of the quality of wine that can be produced from this land.

Today, Brancott Vineyard continues to be a source of inspiration for our winemakers, not only proving that anything is possible, but that our belief in this land and our knowledge to obtain the best from it can result in award-winning wines enjoyed the world over.
