Understanding our soil and vineyards continues to be the focus for the production of single vineyard wines from our Dixons Creek Estate. We are now starting to see a common thread in the detail and texture of wine from these older vineyards with some interesting influence from the season.
- VIC - Yarra Valley
"The use of whole bunches in shiraz is becoming 'de rigeur' in the Yarra Valley, and the effect on the bouquet is set to divide opinion; in this instance the sappy, cold tea, Asian spice and red fruit qualities of the wine jump out of the glass, with the palate having an almost pinot-like silkiness and layered character; long and spicy."
Rating 94 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion 2013, (JUL/2012)
"Serious depth in this wine, but still maintains the medium weight, spice, pepper lift and whack a whole bunch funk that is becoming synonymous with the region's 'Syrah' wines. Brooding core is a portent for future things too. Lots going on."
Rating 95 - Mike Bennie, Wine 100, (APR/2012)
