Understanding our soil and vineyards continues to be the focus for the production of single vineyard wines from our Dixons Creek Estate. We are now starting to see a common thread in the detail and texture of wine from these older vineyards with some interesting influence from the season.
2011 was quite cool and moist. It is a season closer to 2002, but with some more rain pressure in the January and February period. Savage crop thinning and bunch sorting ensured perfect fruit reached the fermenter.

"Light crimson-red; the bouquet is perfumed, and while relatively light-bodied, the wine has complexity and good length to its faintly spicy/juicy red fruits, French oak making a positive contribution. Whether '11 was a vintage for strict discipline is another question." Rating 91 - James Halliday Australian Wine Companion, July 2013
