The Sacred Hill affordable range continues to impress with its amazing quality and value. Sacred Hill wines have won awards at major national and international wine shows including Best Value and received glowing reviews from leading wine writers.

2014 saw good winter rains followed by a warm growing season, which led to good yields of fruit. A hot beginning to the harvest period accelerated the ripening. Frantic harvesting followed, ensuring we picked the fruit with the ideal flavour spectrum.

Expert Reviews

Red fruited, some herbal notes, touch of cassis, touch of floral/lavender. Good start to the wine. Has a washy, pleasing, light on but flavoursome feel to the palate with some fine, light on tannins. Finishes a little lemony and too tangy, but reasonable drink on hand. Rating 86 - Mike Bennie, (JUN/2015).

Winery Tasting Notes

Bright garnet red.

Lifted cherry aromas with an array of spicy/pepper and lingering charry oak.

This wine shows layers of ripe red fruits with a fine tannin frame providing a clear direction and structure. A balance of acid and touches of spice finishing with carefully integrated oak.

Cellaring Potential

Ready for enjoyment now or can be cellared for up to three years.

Food Matching

Perfect match for rare eye fillet of beef, barbequed butterfly leg of lamb, chicken cacciatore or smoked cod with chorizo.

Brand Profile Image

De Bortoli Wines is a third generation family wine company established by Vittorio and Giuseppina De Bortoli in 1928. The couple emigrated to Australia from Northern Italy, from mountain villages at the foothills of the Italian Alps, near the historic town of Asolo.

Their son, the energetic and dynamic Deen De Bortoli, (b 1936 – d 2003) expanded and consolidated the business created by his parents. Deen's children established De Bortoli's reputation for premium wine including icon dessert wine Noble One and the Yarra Valley wines.

Italian family values passed down from Vittorio remain core values, there is a culture of hard work, generosity of spirit and of sharing good food, good wine and good times with family and friends.
