Deen De Bortoli created his Vat Series with the idea of developing a range of delicious, full-flavoured wines at an affordable price. Deen personally selected the blends and chalked the numbers on the vats to identify them. The Vat Series includes traditional varietal wines and also wines made from interesting, newer varieties to Australia.

"De Bortoli’s 'Deen' series is often a happy hunting ground.
This is pretty much a case in point. It has good depth and appealing flavour. It tastes of liquid toast, blackberry, coffee and woody spice. Those toast and coffee notes feel a bit manufactured but the depth of flavour here is impressive, especially given the price. Indeed it would knock the vast bulk of its market/price competitors for six."88 Points - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front, September 2014
"At this price you’re not expecting wines that will sweep you off your feet. Instead, you’re after something tasty and good enough to take to the backyard barbie. It’s a multi-regional blend, full-flavoured with mixed berries combined with some darker blackfruit. It has a savoury quality about it"

Winery Tasting Notes
Deep dark red with violet and garnet hues.
This robust wine has a rich bouquet of fresh blackberries and plums accompanied by distinct pepper and spicy notes.
An opulent style of spicy fruit, plums and cherries. The palate has a plush texture of soft fine grained tannins, peppery oak and a hint of black tea that provides a complexity ensuring a well balanced mouth filling and flavoursome finish.
A good partner to beef casseroles, ribs, smoked brisket or a rich pasta.
Excellent to drink now or will give complexity with short term cellaring for up to five years.
