Deen De Bortoli created his Vat Series with the idea of developing a range of delicious, full-flavoured wines at an affordable price. Deen personally selected the blends and chalked the numbers on the vats to identify them.
Good winter rains followed by a warm growing season led to good yields of fruit. A hot beginning to the harvest period accelerated the ripening with frantic harvesting ensuing to pick the fruit with the ideal flavour spectrum.

It’s not a wine you can go too far wrong on.
It’s fruit-filled and generous, if a little abbreviated to close. Pear, apple and tinny tropical fruit flavours work up enough momentum to fill the mouth and generally satisfy. Performs well at the price. Rating 85 - Drink by 2016, Campbell Mattinson, winefront.com.au (JUN/2015).
Winery Tasting Notes
Pale straw in colour.
Lifted nose of white peach, with cashew and subtle vanilla oak characters adding complexity.
A medium bodied richly textured Chardonnay, with tight acidity holding it all together for a long finish.
This wine will develop in the bottle over the next three to five years.
A great match to chicken, seafood and light pasta dishes.
